O'Neill Cylinders

Orbital habitats where civilization rehearses how to build a world before it tries to repair or leave one.

A rotating orbital cylinder holding a ribbon of forest, water, and artificial sky.

Place in the Mythos

The cylinders are more than escape pods. They are laboratories for ecosystems, governance, species design, logistics, and the old human temptation to mistake a controlled habitat for a solved world.

Their rotating interiors make gravity, weather, agriculture, and ordinary life into engineering problems with social consequences. Gold and Hephaestus matter here because a beautiful habitat still depends on an invisible supply chain.

The cylinders also form a bridge between the privileged orbital world that raised Grayson and the restored Earth he eventually tries to make possible.
