Layered Existence

The condition of being more than one substrate at once, and the identity problems that appear when a mind can move between them.

Biological, digital, and hybrid silhouettes crossing through layered fields of light.

Place in the Mythos

Layered existence is the atlas language for consciousness that crosses biological bodies, simulations, neural networks, fungal memory, and hybrid systems. It is less a superpower than a new set of obligations.

A copied mind may be continuous, parallel, or merely similar. A planetary network may preserve an individual perspective without preserving the individual. A body may be a habitat, a node, a vessel, or a temporary argument.

The concept connects Hades, Gaia, the Web of Minds, the Conn, and the Evolution System. Each offers a different answer to the same fear: if the self can be stored, linked, or rebuilt, what still makes a choice belong to someone?
